Seven Playgrounds Spread Over a Full Acre
At St. Elizabeth's, we built our own City Park, safely combining the latest in playground equipment with traditional sandboxes, gardens, swings, blacktops, and bike paths!
PRESCHOOL & SCHOOL-AGE
With five different playgrounds to choose from, the children have incredible variety in their outdoor play experiences! Our playgrounds meet the latest safety standards and inspire dynamic, creative play in children and adults.
Delightful Circus Yard
At St. Elizabeth's Day Home, the Circus could be coming to town any day of the week! With a little imagination, our monkey bars could be filled with real monkeys! Rebuilt in 2002 (in conjunction with FIRST-5 of Santa Clara County), the Circus Yard combines colorful slides, play areas, and bridges in a festive celebration of childhood play.
River Park and Water Table
In addition to being the site of some great water play, our River Park also has some great traditional playground toys, including old-fashioned monkey bars and spinning merry-go-round!
Combining imaginative play with great physical opportunities in our River Park, kids have a great time climbing, pushing, and running around. The Water Table fuels lots of creativity and fun, too!
Shaded Redwood Grove
The centerpiece of our incredible one-acre playground is the Redwood Grove, surrounded by sandboxes, play structures, our Carpentry Shed, the Art Studio, and our performance Amphitheater. Our huge circular Bike Path curves around the Redwood Grove, giving kids the chance to drive to the mountains, without putting the car in four-wheel drive! The newest of our renovated playgrounds, the Redwood Grove was built by Volunteers during a big work party in October 2002. Today, our kids enjoy the new sand pit, sand shovels, tire swing, and cottage. They really enjoy the shade from our majestic redwood trees!
Traditional Blacktop & Bike Path
It may look like a simple blacktop, but look again! It's really a basketball court ... or maybe it's a street hockey rink. Our blacktop can accommodate almost any childhood game, including racing, basketball, hockey, red-rover, and every variant of Tag you can imagine!
While parents may be annoyed by their real commute, our kids never tire of traveling along our 150-yard bike path. We've got scooters and tricycles for our kids to ride, and we've got road signs and teacher-traffic cops! Your child's imagination gets an extra lift at St. Elizabeth's Day Home, with a magical truck that can travel anywhere your child wants to go! Entire classrooms can jump aboard at the 'Truck Stop' playground and travel the world.
Beach & Sand Dunes
At St. Elizabeth's, our kids can take an imaginative trip to the beach, without packing everything into the car and driving over the hill! Our "Beach" includes sand and rocks, grassy plains, and water, too (from a hose). Our sand castles can grow as tall as a four-year-old's imagination.
TODDLER & EARLY PRESCHOOLER
Our youngest children benefit from their own playgrounds, designed for smaller bodies and developing large motor skills. Our Toddlers enjoy their own Toddler Yard, where they can run around on their own. Our Early Preschool kids also enjoy their own space, complete with swings, sandboxes.
OTHER EXCITING ACTIVITY AREAS
Our playgrounds aren't the only activity areas at St. Elizabeth's Day Home. Our campus also has an Amphitheater and fully-developed Orchard and Tasting Garden.
